Keeping our Patients and Staff safe

Patient and Staff Safety

On January 29th, 2021, all staff members got their first Moderna vaccinations through the San Francisco Dental Society.
As of February 26th, 2021, all staff members have received both Moderna vaccinations.
Although this step helps with protection against COVID-19, all safety measures will remain in place.

In these unusual times, the safety of our patients and staff has become more important than ever. With that in mind we have made changes in our office to mitigate risks against COVID-19 and any other infections.

Please take a moment to review these changes listed below, and let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, by emailing us at contact@jjcarlosdmd.com.

rules for your office visit

As part of our move towards making the office as safe as possible, we have implemented some new rules that we request everyone follow when coming to the office.

1: Masks must be worn while the office at all times except during treatment

2: Multiple patients will not be allowed in the waiting area at the same time

3: Everyone must hand sanitize with the provided hand sanitizer in the reception area

4: Your temperature will be taken by the front desk staff

5: You will be asked some questions when you arrive at the office

Complete office refurbishment >>

On December 7th last year our office was flooded during a storm. We spent 3 months refurbishing the office in order to make it safe and clean for our patients. This included replacing our carpeted floor with a vinyl plank flooring. This product allows for easier and better cleaning.

All areas are cleaned and sanitized at the beginning and end of the day and in between patients.

<< reception area sneeze guard

The 'sneeze guard' offers a physical separation between you and our front office staff.

Rabbit MINUSA2 air purifier >>

In the waiting room you will see our new Rabbit MINUS2 air purifier. This purifier has 6 levels of filters, each one giving a higher level of filtration:

1: Pre-filter: Large Particles, Pollen, Dust Mites

2: Medium Filter: Bacteria, Dander, Dust Particles, Mold and Fungi

3: BIOGS HEPA Filter: Bacteria, Particles that can carry virus, Dander, Dust Particles, Mold & Fungi

4: Germ Defence: Engineered to trap and reduce bacteria, mold and particles that carry viruses

5: Activated Carbon Charcoal: Greenhouse gases, Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)

6: Negative IONs Filters:

<< Additional water filters at each chair

The office has a water filter for the main water feed. In addition to this we have added Sterisil Water Filters at each chair filtering the water used during dental procedures. These microbiological filters produce water with less than or equal to 10 CFU/ml HPC bacteria, surpassing industry standard.

hand sanitizer >>

Automatic, no-touch hand sanitizer dispensers can be found in the reception area, at the operatories, and in the patient restroom. You will be requested to make use of these as you enter the office.

<< ADS Extraoral Dental Suction System

The ADS EOS (Extraoral Dental Suction System) literally sucks aerosols and droplets out of the air.

When working on a patient, aerosols and droplets are produced from the water sprayed into the mouth as well as the debris from drilling teeth. The suction cap on the ADS EOS is placed about 8" from the patients mouth and sucks up all of those airborne particles.

The aerosol produced passes through a three-level filter.

  1. H-14 Hepa Filtration System: The 3 layered Hepa filtration system, stops virus and bacteria -> 0.3 microns with a 99.995% efficiency. This is sufficient to stop Coronavirus.
  2. Precision Water Vaporization Filtering: Ensures the immediate drying in the cabinet base and emits clean dry air.
  3. Medical Grade UV-C Light Disinfectant System: The UV-C light in coordination with the H-14 Hepa filter captures and kills bacteria, germs and viruses

PPE (Personal Protection equipment) >>

Our PPE's are upgraded to include disposable gowns, face shields, eye protection, and N95/KN95 masks approved by CDC and OSHA.
